Born in Geneva in 1911, died in Monaco in 2009. Maurice Braillard’s eldest son, Pierre Braillard practised as an architect in Geneva from 1927 to 1983. He worked for a time in his father’s office before spending more than a year in Berlin, expanding his professional horizons. This was followed by a similar period with the Pfister brothers in Zurich. In 1933 he returned to Geneva to run his father’s office, the latter having been elected a member of the Cantonal parliament, a role to which he devoted almost all his time.

Pierre Braillard worked for his father until the Sixties, and then worked with his brother until 1976, thereafter working on his own account. The favourable economic situation and the thriving property market in Geneva offered Pierre Braillard great opportunities, with major commissions from banks, insurance companies and business. He was architect to the Canton of Geneva from 1962 to 1965.

Photographs of projects by Pierre Braillard are available as a gallery.
